President - Dr. Danny Barnes - Ward #4

Dr. Danny Barnes is a graduate of Deer Creek and has lived in the district for over 36 years. He has volunteered extensively at the schools over this time period and understands that parental involvement and communication are the keys to success at Deer Creek Schools. Dr. Barnes’ long term involvement with the schools and community has given him a unique perspective and insight into making decisions concerning the growth and direction of our schools. His father was also a school board member at Deer Creek and was instrumental in developing the original Deer Creek Elementary school and Middle school. 

Dr. Barnes is a senior partner of Urology Associates in Oklahoma City. Established in 1966, this is the oldest and largest urologic clinic in the southwest. He is also a volunteer pediatric urologic consultant for many indigent care medical clinics throughout Oklahoma City. 

Dr. Barnes has six children. All are graduates of Deer Creek. He established “The Daniel P. Barnes and Family Scholarship Fund” in honor of his families tradition at Deer Creek Schools. This scholarship is given yearly to senior students who best exemplify the tradition of excellence at Deer Creek. 

This community has had a tremendous and positive impact on my life and I will continue to contribute on behalf of our students in any way that I can.

Vice President- Lorrie Bamford - Ward #5

Lorrie Bamford was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, one of eleven children. She graduated with honors from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1992, with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and English Writing. She attended law school at Oklahoma City University School of Law and graduated with her juris doctor degree with honors in 1995. After practicing in business litigation for 15 years, she now serves as Vice President and General Counsel for Gaming Capital Group, LLC and is a Supreme Court Justice for the Delaware Nation. Lorrie is married to Reg Bamford and they have two children: Aaron Corbin, a 2020 graduate of Deer Creek High School on football scholarship at Fort Hays State University in Kansas and Sarah Corbin, a Freshman at Deer Creek High School and a member of the DC Band. Lorrie and her family have lived in the District since 2011.

Lorrie’s Mission is to love people, be a lifelong learner and a passionate advocate for fairness and hope. Lorrie has served in many capacities as a volunteer for various parent groups as well as an officer for the Deer Creek Football Booster Club. She believes in the inclusion of the growing diversity of students that is Deer Creek and that all students deserve a space and a voice to succeed. She believes the School Board represents and is a voice for its stakeholders: the teachers, parents, students, and administrators. Lorrie is also a motivational speaker and certified life and smoking cessation coach.

Clerk - Mike Kiehn - Ward #1

Dr. Mike Kiehn moved into the Deer Creek Community in 2012.  Mike was born in Cordell, OK and grew up in Altus, OK.  He attended Oklahoma State University for his undergraduate degree and received his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma.  He is currently an orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedic Associates.  Mike and his wife, Candace, have three daughters, one who just graduated from Deer Creek and the other two who still attend Deer Creek Schools.  

Mike volunteers in many areas of the Deer Creek community including sporting events and fundraisers.  He enjoys meeting and working with the staff and families that are in Deer Creek Schools.  He believes parental involvement is instrumental to improving the education of our children.  Mike has also served in the community as an executive member of the Oklahoma City All Sports Board, as well as contributed to the coordination of events for Limbs for Life and the Wayman Tisdale Foundation.  

Deputy Clerk - Kelli Lay - Ward #3

Brent and Kelli Lay have been a part of the Deer Creek Community since 2003. Kelli grew up in Hugo, Oklahoma. She attended the University of Oklahoma receiving both a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in human relations. Kelli started her career with the Hertz Corporation. In 2017, Kelli, along with her business partners, founded Stella Nova Coffee. She has spent the last 16 years as senior vice president of Irish Companies currently specializing in college campus solutions and conflict resolution.

Kelli is married to Brent Lay. He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. Brent has worked at the Hertz Corporation for 24 years. They have two daughters. In addition to her love for family and work, Kelli has a passion for community service. She has served the Deer Creek community as a PTO officer, Deer Creek Arts Council Treasurer, DCES auction, Hospitality Committee for PVES and DCIS, DCO basketball coach, Special Olympics, Adopt a Teacher and workroom volunteer at DCES and PVES. At Church of the Servant, Kelli has volunteered as Elementary Children's Worship Leader for 12 years. She also served on the Leadership Appointment Committee, Hannah’s Promise and Preschool VBS Director. In Oklahoma City, Kelli serves on the boards of Heartline, a non-profit suicide prevention outreach, and Citizens Caring for Children, a non-profit dedicated to serving local foster children.

 Member - Stanlen Green - Ward #2

Stanlen Green moved into the Deer Creek Community in 2017. Stanlen was born in Tulsa, OK and grew up in Coweta, OK. He spent 12 years in the Marine Corps, serving in 2nd Force Reconnaissance Co, 1st Recon Battalion & 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion. In 2011 Stanlen was medically retired and moved back to Oklahoma. He is currently the Director of Special Operations Support for Berry Aviation.  Stanlen and his wife Debra, have 4 children two of which attend Deer Creek Schools.
